This land is truly cursed. Rivers of poison, filled with demonic bile, eat away at the earth. Ancient wyrms, terrible and great, slumber quietly within the mire. Perhaps you know of a dragon slayer, jobless, up for hire.

Diablo II Accounts Closed Nebu on August 11, 2005 |
 | |
We have just closed more than 36,000 accounts for cheating on Battle.net. More than 28,000 CD keys tied to
these accounts have been disabled from Realm play on Battle.net for one month, and more than 3,000 CD keys
have been permanently disabled from Realm play due to repeat offenses. Please see the
Battle.net FAQ for details
on our anti-cheating procedure. As a reminder, the Battle.net news window that Diablo II players see after logging in has had a long-running warning against the use of hacks, clearly indicating that if we detect that cheating is taking place, the offending accounts may be closed without notice and the CD keys tied to these accounts may likewise be disabled without notice. Today’s account closures reflect our zero-tolerance policy against cheating, as well as our effort to prepare the Realms for the new ladder season. We appreciate the support of the thousands of legitimate Diablo II players in helping us keep Battle.net a secure and fun place to play Blizzard games.

Today we’re happy to present the two announcers that will be on hand at BlizzCon to commentate the invitational tournaments for Warcraft III and StarCraft. Each will be explaining, analyzing, and calling all the action as the kings of the real-time strategy world take to the stage.
Commentating for the StarCraft tournament will be Chris “WaCKSteVeN” Iannitti and the crew from Inside The Game. Last October, Chris was in San Francisco casting the StarCraft tournament at the World Cyber Games grand finals. You can find the ITG team on irc.enterthegame.com at #radioITG or by visiting their website here.
On the Warcraft III side of the invitational, Kim “bunny” Vothang will be calling the action. She’s been a staple of Warcraft III’s online community while covering numerous online clan matches and tournaments, including the recent Battle.net Ladder Season Two tournament. Warcraft III: Korea's Big Day in Season Two Araxas on August 1, 2005 |
 | |
Congratulations to WE.Remind, who has been crowned the Warcraft III Season Two Champion! He defeated 4K.Fury 2-1 to win his second consecutive solo championship. After Fury took the opening game on Twisted Meadows, Remind switched from his customary race choice of Night Elf to Orc. Although seemingly a strange strategy, he had confessed before the match that he was weakest against Undead, Fury's race of choice, when he played Night Elf. Perhaps anticipating that his opponent would practice the Undead vs. Night Elf match-up, and with a solid background of 356 wins/30 losses on Kalimdor playing Orc, the switch paid off and he came from behind to win the next two matches on Turtle Rock and Gnoll Wood. Congratulations again, Remind!
- Download the Remind (Korea) vs. Fury (Sweden) replays here.
Remind has also advanced to the finals of the 2v2 championship with his longtime partner, Undead player Soju. Last week the tandem defeated 2winners (aka nc.dude) and 2winnerz 2-0 to advance. In the day's other Korea vs. Sweden match-up, the Northrend champions Zipper and Target took on Farseer and Check. In what proved to be a very close set of matches, Farseer and Check won 2-1 with a finale on Lost Temple to advance to face Remind and Soju in an all-Korean 2v2 finals match coming soon.
